The Swedish healthcare system encourages patients to use the app for appointment bookings, general inquiries, prescription renewals, and clinic communication. However, more than 80% of the users find the app unhelpful for their specific needs, citing prolonged processes and difficulty in navigation.
We identified issues with three user flows, honing in on prescription renewal based on app reviews.
For our research, we deepened the understanding of the users by doing a cognitive walkthrough in the flow and then observing the users as they completed their prescription renewals in the existing app.
We were then able to analyze the data we obtained and see exactly where the problems were. And then redesign in prototypes and conduct our process with user tests along the way.
Simplifying the medical app 1177 for patients to use.
Low & High Fidelity wireframes that we created based on the defined problems with the help of continous user testing. We iterated the first prototype to make it even better in the second one.
We came up with a user flow that was intuitive and quickly implemented for all of the people we tested on.
The measurements below shows the three steps: 1177 as it was, our first prototype 1.0 and the second prototype 2.0.
